I would also like to say, Rest in Peace Don Knotts.
I grew up in Uniontown. Just miles from Morgantown, WV, where Mr. Knotts is a hero. I also was raised on the Andy Griffith show. Don Knotts was making me laugh from the time I could understand television.
He was also kickass on Three's Company. One site described Mr. Furley as a "swinger and homophobe". That is killer.
A year or so ago they had "The Shakiest Gun in the West" on On Demand. I watched it once. Then immediately made my little sister watch it too. It was just so entertaining. He was one of the last clean entertainers.
In an age filled with sex, violence, and foul language, Don Knotts never took a backseat to anyone.
I, for one, will miss him dearly. He now joins my other favorite performers:
Rodney Dangerfield, Carol O'Connor, Jackie Gleason, and so on.
Don Knotts, thanks for the laughs and the memories. Have a safe and wonderful journey wherever you are headed.
