An assignment from eithnepdb...

This is how it works: Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter, including an explanation of what the word means to you and why.

En assigned me the letter "A."

Architecture: I am fascinated by it, and tend to look skyward in cities to see the little details in the buildings. Boston's a particularly rich city for this. Rome too, obviously!

Animals: I'm a sucker for them. We make contributions to animal shelters, and support them however we can. My house would be a zoo if I had the time.

April: I love spring! I confess that autumn is my favourite season, but spring is a close second. April, in particular, is when I start getting all excited seeing flower and leaf buds. Huzzah for green!

Autumn: I betcha knew that was coming. I get happy about cool crisp breezes and the sound of rustling leaves. And oh, the colors!

Autonomy: I have to have a lot of it, or I won't be happy. This is a pretty important piece of my job. Start looking over my shoulder, and I guarantee I won't work as hard or as well.

Animated: An excellent word to describe me under happy circumstances.

Amour: Hey, nobody said the word had to be english! I am madly in love with my boy. I think most days, it's that comforting old married couple sort of love, but we definitely still have our moments of teenage lust. ;)

Ancient: As in culture/civilizations. I am fascinated by all things old. I love Rome, and I suspect I'd feel the same about Athens. There is something inside me that's deeply affected when I stop to ponder something that's survived many more lifetimes than I have. While it's not -quite- the same, "antique" would work, too. But that's cheating, I think.

Answers: I like having them. I have a lot of them. I'd like to think of myself as a useful resource, but I suspect this sometimes irritates people. I've got a terrible habit of being businesslike first, and sympathetic second - sometimes just as an afterthought. It's something I'm working on, but I havne't completely broken myself of it yet.

Art: I like looking at it, sure, but I love creating it, even if it's nothing particularly clever or marketable. I get a rush out of seeing something go from my head to some sort of object in front of me. I'm not very good at most mediums, but I don't much care. :)
