Late Night Musings

Apr 19, 2009 22:46

It's been an incredibly long while since I've posted. I'd like to do it justice, but it's late for me right now and I need to get to sleep soon.

I've been very busy at work since getting back from post-deployment leave, what with training my replacement as company clerk and getting into my new role as training NCO. But enough about work.

Fun things....

Video games - finishing up Lego Batman for PS3. Hilarity abounds, and the game mechanics are really good. An excellent game for a collector-type like me, someone who is bound and determined to find everything in a game. Also just started Last Remnant for 360. Haven't gotten too far into it yet, but it's got potential.

Movies - Saw Dragonball Evolution last week. Not all that impressive, I'm sorry to say. I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but it could've been cooler than it was.

Rented Twilight and Yes Man this weekend. Not sure what all the hype about Twilight was. I was not impressed. Yes Man, on the other hand, was hilarious, but not stupid hilarious (which is never a good thing in my opinion). Definitely recommend checking that one out if you haven't already.

Music - Finally got my hands on copies of Pretty Odd (Panic at the Disco) and Fall Out Boy's second album (the title escapes me at the moment. Fall Out Boy first - outside of the two songs I knew - This Ain't a Scene and Thanks for the Memories (or whichever vowels they decided to leave out), I don't especially like it all that much. Pretty Odd, however, was delightfully perky and strangely different from Panic at the Disco's first album (then Panic! at the Disco). Different, but still good. Weirder still, the whole album gives me a Sergeant Pepper's nostalgia. The mood, the instrumentation, even some of the styles, which are quite diverse. And to think I only picked up that album because Nine in the Afternoon was on Rockband 2....

That's all the news that's fit to print right now. More on me later....
