Got Arthur?

So, I went and saw King Arthur today and totally loved it. Not in a "OMG THIS IS THE BEST THING SINCE LOTR!!!!" way but in a "Oooh, I wanted to be entertained and enjoy a decent action movie and I got it!!" way. Will be buying the soundtrack as soon as it's released at the end of the month.

Course, before I saw it, I kept worrying it'd be another ( Read more... )

Cant wait to see the icons girlie! The film was photographed beautifully and would make some very impressive icons.

Last Samurai is on my list of too see. Have you seen the Italian Job, old I know but well worth seeing, I say that cause I just saw it recently. Makes you want to run out and buy a mini cooper.

can I just say AMEN to that? good. ;) I'm relieved someone else feels the way I do about it.

as I said before, leave it to Disney to ruin a good movie.

I've not seen Troy or King Arthur, but being the dork that I am, I'd watch them for Padme's handmaidens ( Rose Byrne from AOTC in Troy--and Keira Knightly from TPM in King Arthur. Yum. )

I read the Riddick novelization before I saw the movie. I prefer Alan Dean Foster's novelization to the movie itself.

Speaking of the Disney take on historical epics, Princess of Thieves was on last night. Keira Knightly ( I know I must be misspelling that angel's name ) is lovely to look at, but I found myself catcalling the pristine nature of the movie ( all twenty minutes of it I watched while eating dinner. )and all these calendar boys running around looking like they were suppposed to be tough. My Mom remarked, "This isn't any Disney movie in MY book." But then, she was brought up on Bambi and the Mouseketeers.

Let's hold out for an unrated version on DVD.

Bit nervous on the novelization, cause frankly, Foster's style makes skin crawl, but hey, we'll see. :)

Rose Bryne was the handmaiden that got killed in AOTC, yes? If it was, and now that I'm thinking about it, I think it was her, I couldn't get over how they picked an actress that didn't look a darn thing like Portman to play the handmaiden. If anything, they should've had Keira reprise the role. :)

No, Rose Byrne was alive in AOTC ( Veronica Segura was the one who bought it on the landing platform ).

Yeah, Keira should have reprised the role...she looks spookily like Natalie Portman.

Which one was Rose, then in ATOC? The one who hand the most screen time as a handmaiden? *scratches head* It's been forever since I've watched that movie.

So the movie was worth the theater prices? I'm so picky now about what movies I will see at the theater! :)

I think it's definitely worth a matinee. Not sure about evening prices though, but I think it depends on what you look for in movies. I wouldn't have minded paying the evening prices though, so maybe that helps. :)
