'Course.

That's the way it's gotta be. It's not as if there's any other choice, anyway.

Precisely.

You sink or you swim. That's all anyone can do.

They can crush us, but I hear you just pop up again the next day. So what's the worst that can happen? ...Making me wish I won't wake up again?

Like that's ever gonna happen. I've still got Monkey Master 5 to look forward to.

[He has to stifle a small smile. Any voice of rebellion, or stubborn perseverance, nets his approval.]

They can try, but it takes a certain type of person to be crushed so badly. I doubt many in this town are that type of person.

There's quite a few songs I'd still like to hear. I adore music. That's enough for me.

It seems kinda pointless, if you ask me. [No one did.] I mean, if they want to be thanked or whatever, they teach in first grade that it's better to ask nicely than to be a bully.

It is pointless. People like them exemplify being pointless.

[Goddammit, he's going too verbose. It's part of why he disdains his child form. His "nanny" was so much better at rephrasing what he said into simple terms, childish terms, but he didn't have her at the moment. He needs to be more careful.]

I've found that those who believe they are stronger need to be respected, without really showing anything to enforce this belief. They simply expect it.

I think we should prove them wrong.

If there's one thing I've learned from fighting crime... It's that the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

[pause]

And I guess if I'm going with cliches, the second thing is don't underestimate your enemy, either. It can't hurt to go in with a little prep work.

[Oh, he could agree with both of those. His millennia of contest and battle with YHWH has taught him that much.]

Indeed.

It's a pity, I haven't been here longer and regained what is mine. It will be interesting to see what happens, regardless, if a bit more difficult depending on the situation.

You're telling me. But hey, maybe we'll get one out of this mess - a regain.

We might hope. There are quite a few things I could do with having back by now, even if it has been but a week.

So what's the first thing you'd want back if you got a choice?

[That's actually a good question. Of all the things this town has stripped him of...what would he like best?]

.....My magic, I think.

You're a magician? Sweet. What kinda magic do you do?

A great deal. I manipulate the elements, even the matter and fabric of creation itself. There is very little I cannot do, when I have my rightful power.

Better than what Mumbo can do, anyway. [Beast Boy sounds suitably awed.] ...You know, you're not actually a little kid, are you?

You're correct.

I am not.
