There's something cold and blank behind her smile
She's standing on an overpass
In her miracle mile
NAME: Bailey Crow
AGE/BIRTHDAY: January 21st
CLASS: Alpha
FAMILY: Maxwell Crow [father, deceased], Jennifer Graham [mother, deceased], Daman Crow [brother]
SEXUALITY: Bisexual
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: None
CHILDREN: None
CODENAME: Slither
MUTATION: Mercury mimicry. Slither's ability gives her the power to alter her body into pure mercury, mimicking it's traits and appearance. Able to lengthen her body or completely shift her body into another shape, Slither can move as mercury over surfaces and reform into her body at another location. In her mercury form she is a metallic polymorph, able to shift into different shapes, both solid and liquid. In combat she can use this ability to reshape her limbs into sharp and melee weapons. When her body is in its metal form, she is very hard to injure or damage with physical attacks. When this version of her body is attacked in a physical assault, she can simply reassemble herself.
LIMITATIONS: Being metallic based, Slither's main weakness is electricity. Large bursts of electric current can incapacitate her. Similarly extreme amounts of heat can also damage her.
SKILLS: Bailey is a scientific prodigy. She is somewhat narrow minded, tending towards the less ethical side of biology and the genetics of 'advanced' human beings. However, Bailey is not medically trained and simply scientific in her pursuits, finding them far less biased.
Additionally, Bailey is a skilled hacker and information gatherer. Her mutation offers her unparalleled opportunities for stealth and sneaking, which she uses at her own discretion.
GENDER: Female
NATIONALITY: American
HEIGHT: 5'8" -always wears heels putting her at 6'
WEIGHT: 144lbs -heavy metal
EYE COLOUR: Blue
HAIR COLOUR: Red
WARDROBE: For her placement within Team-X, Bailey is aware of her appearance, keeping it proper and sleek. Her chosen spot in their infiltration puts Bailey within the labs, giving her a tidy look and a clean appearance -slicked hair, smooth, white lab coat over plain but workable clothes and little to no make up.
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Small birth mark on left hip, no bigger than a thumb print, similar to a red wine stain that she loathes.
LIKES: science, fact, winning games, agonising screams, nails on a chalk board
DISLIKES: losing, bleeding on herself, chipped nails, broken heels
STRENGTHS: determined, bull headed, sibling-connection, no remorse, iron clad control
WEAKNESSES: no remorse, heartlessness, potentially sociopathic, shoe obsession
PERSONALITY: Bailey, as an elder sibling, is very protective of her brother. But for rather selfish reasons. Most of Bailey's reasons are selfish. She is a bit of a control freak; her life lacks organisation, something Bailey fiercely wants, and that is unacceptable to her.
Utterly vain, her biggest peeve is her birthmark on her hip and for this reason she refuses to ever be naked enough in public to expose her one, perceived, imperfection. Bailey takes great care in her appearance, down to the last detail, in an almost obsessive manner. She is always neat and tidy, which is a throw back from a childhood of never having that organisation.
Independent and stubborn, Bailey displays a callous streak that borders of sadistic, enjoying the irritations and annoyances that affect other people. She holds people in little regard, unaffected by emotions for those who are not her brother and not concerned with ties to anyone in life. She is cold-hearted and distant, lacking in consideration for anyone's feelings.
With Daman, she is controlling and harsh, although he seems to react better to it. Bailey sees this not as a wrong way to act with her sibling, as even her affection for him is shown in her harsh handling of him. Where he is soft, she is hard and is clearly the boss of their relationship.
PERSONALITY STRENGTHS: competitive, focused, little to no emotional influence
PERSONALITY WEAKNESSES: stubborn, narrow minded, lacks compassion
HISTORY: Bailey was born to Maxwell and Jennifer out of wedlock. She was born through Ceaserean section following her twin brother going into distress during labour, resulting in Jennifer's umbilical cord wrapping around Daman's throat. Born nine and a half minutes before her brother, and for three of those minutes, she was an only child.
Following a complicated first few days of their lives, the twins returned home with their parents to a small house in Portland, Oregon where, for four years, everything seemed perfectly normal. When the twins reached five, Bailey started noticing things about Daman; he fell over a lot, he walked into doors a lot, he got hurt playing sports a lot, he cried a lot. She didn't add things up until they were seven, and Daman had a fist shaped bruise on his face.
After returning home from school one afternoon, Bailey and Daman walked in to their house to find their father standing over the body of their mother. Maxwell lunged at his children, but both scattered, leaving drunken Maxwell to follow after Daman while Bailey, unknown to her father, called 911 to the house. Bailey found her father in Daman's room, Daman bleeding from the hand while Maxwell grabbed her twin by the neck. Unthinking, Bailey grabbed her brothers soccer trophy and swung, catching the side of Maxwell's head and cracking his skull.
Police arrived on the scene to find two dead adults and two blood covered children. Daman and Bailey were given to Child Protective Services while police investigated the incident. Despite much protest the twins were separated, Daman ending up in a mixed foster home while Bailey was placed in an all girls orphanage.
Bailey spent nine weeks without her brother at the all girls place, closed off and brash, often asking about her brother and repeatedly telling the other girls she killed her father. Eventually, Bailey was placed in a foster home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Bailey grew up with five other foster siblings, reaching the age of fifteen in the same foster family. While she never actually developed any bonds with her foster family, she was fairly content with her outcome in life.
However, the weekend before her sixteenth birthday, Daman -soaked to the bone, underweight and beaten up, showed up on the doorstep of her foster families house. While anyone else would've pleaded for the family to take Daman in, Bailey -having seen the scar on his hand to remind her exactly what she'd done for her brother, gave the family an ultimatum; they keep Daman, or Bailey left.
John and Sandra were fine with Daman living with them, although they contacted authorities to try and track down where Daman had been placed. In the mean time, Daman stayed with them, living at the end of Bailey's bed almost constantly and trailing around behind her. Bailey, when reunited with her little brother, grew more assertive, more domineering and just a tad cruel towards others. She was protective of Daman, but only him. This worried Sandra, to the point where she pushed for CPS to do something about Daman's presence in her home.
One afternoon, a social worker arrived to remove Daman from the foster home. Bailey, losing her temper and refusing to allow her brother to leave, got mad at the social worker, triggering her mutant ability into effect. While she held on to Daman's arm, her other hand morphed into a liquid metal, spearing through to social worker's heart and killing her instantly. Stunned and shocked, Sandra and John pushed their other foster kids into the house, calling the police, while Bailey pushed Daman into the social workers car and drove off.
Panicking, Bailey and Daman left the state, driving to New York and staying in a crappy motel until they could figure things out. After a week, the motel manager tried to kick them out, until Daman somehow convinced him that they had paid for their room and he left. Further investigation showed the Daman could alter people's perception of things when he tried hard enough. This opened more possibilities for the twins.
Taking the opportunity, Bailey convinced Daman to enrol them both in NYU, Bailey studying biology and Daman pushing himself through a history course. Over the course of five years, Bailey called the shots with her and Daman's lives, usually having Daman use his ability to get them what they needed and how they needed things. All the while, Bailey continued to protect Daman from the world around them, often cleaning up behind them when things didn't work out and showing little care for the damage they caused.
On her own merit, Bailey gained a place with a bio-lab, doing cell research in California. Taking Daman across country with her, Bailey started working for a reclusive multi-billionaire who grew curious as to the nature of her connection with her brother. When Bailey attempted to get Daman to direct the man's attention elsewhere, the twins inadvertently informed him of just what they were, as he had a psi-block which protected him against reality alterations.
Instead of exposing them, he gave them a rather tricky assignment, willing to pay more money than either could turn down, Bailey and Daman agreed, and started planning how they could infiltrate the Governments secretive 'Team-X'.
