happy new year
one of the 5 billion people that decided at the last minute to go to times square on new year's - only to be suprised that so many others had also come up with the same radical idea - complained to me when the laws of physics wouldn't allow him to get close to the ball. no, he did not complain about all the people who got there at 11am instead of 11pm to see the ball drop. nor did he complain about physics. he complained "this is a police state! where's the democracy?!" to which i replied "i voted for a police state... does that make it a democracy?"
