Lion, and Tigers, and Bears..oh my!

Well, minus the bears! Out with B on Friday morning, picked up a Dallas Guide and found that the next day, yesterday, was dollar admission day at the Dallas Zoo. Rolled it around in my head, and told
kingdom_key1 about it and she thought it was a great idea.  Started off looking like a cold morning, but still kept the idea on the backburner.  All of the kid's usually scheduled classes had been cancelled, so our usual night's out were not going to go through just that way, so I wanted to do something nice with all of them.  Under current situations, Key wasn't feeling too good, and it was getting a little past 11, so I decided to let her spend the day in bed and take the circus to the zoo...no pun intended.  We finally left about 12:30.  The zoo closed at 4 pm, so the general consensus was we wouldn't have enough time to do much of anything...because 2 and a half hours is just NOT enough!  We got there about 1:45 with traffic and besides a few little "problems" (with a group like us, it's bound to happen), the day was actually pretty fun!  They got to see all of the animals on display, Giraffes down to beetles, and everything in between.  We wrapped it up just as the younger two were starting to lose clarity and get cranky, so when 4 hit and it was around time to start heading back the car, it was good timing.  Of course, they were all hungry, and I had kept their "in Zoo consumption" down to a minimum, so when I brought up all you can eat pizza once we got close to home, they didn't give me the usual "I'm starving", " I haven't eaten a thing today!"  etc, etc, etc.  They all fell asleep for most of the drive, had a decent time at CiCi's and got home to a Mom who had just had most of the day to herself.  Not a bad day at all!  (now if I can make it through the next 3 hours of work so I can get home)  Life feels pretty good, and I'm glad I was able to jump on a chance to get all the kids out of the house for more than a trip to the store!
