you and my best bud are very similar. tron cannot seem to sit still for very long before going nuts or getting depressed. she always needs to be somewhere with someone, otherwise she feels like she is missing out in some way or another. i understand people who are like that, but it's not for everyone.
it's easy to think that people who don't go anywhere, or seem to do much of anything, are bored. i am sure in some/many cases that is true... but that's not true for everyone. there are some people (j and myself included)who'd rather spend an evening at home in each other's company, than drive to timbuktu to rub elbows with people who's company we only mildly enjoy. to us it is a waste of effort, and gas money... that and most of our friends are over 100 miles away.
we loooove being at home with one another. occasionally we will go out to dinner, or go see a movie. i don't think we're complacent simply because we don't go to a different place ever night or every other night. even if we are complacent, i am certainly not bored when j is around. none of my friends can pick my brain as well as j. i know that there a lot of people like j and i... people who don't feel like going out because they don't want to feel obligated to be social. i don't need friends or a fancy place to be entertained or feel human... i get that at home.
i see where you are coming from, but you shouldn't be so concerned with people being complacent, every person enjoys different thinks. i hate going out, you like going out. funny how we can still get along. : )
on another note, i am very sorry to hear that you got in a car accident. oh, it's past midnight... so, happy b-day!!! i'll poke you on facebook or something. ; )
No, no, no you got my message wrong. My message was simply to not hibernate. ENJOY and LIVE your life for you! If what brings you joy and your heart feels full from just doing the above mentioned...then, so be it!
Everyone derives joy from life in different ways.
An Indiana Jones life would be perfect for me. I just love be on an adventure 24/7...but that's just me and how I personally enjoy life! I like having crazy stories to tell, unique people to meet and interesting places to go. I know that when I'm 80 years old and someone asks me what have I accomplished with my life? I'll have a whole novel of stories to tell. Because that's how I personally want to live my life.
