[The video clicks on. Dorian leans back away from the camera and drapes himself over the divan comfortably. He touches his cigarette to his lips before he speaks, and he seems a touch out of sync with time, the words coming with comfortable slow pauses. Judging by the near empty glass of sickly green liquid before him on the table, he has been drinking enough that the world seems to be floating by with bright whorls of vivid color. This, he thinks to himself, is what he has needed after all of this terrible barge bullshit. Indulgence. Indulgence in drink and music and people and dancing. That is what is needed.
This was not Dorian's first glass of absinthe, and it is beginning to show. He is neatly dressed, hair perfect, utterly charming in every way... except that his speech is slow and he's smiling more than he has been, and his body, his pose is loose and relaxed.
The invite is open to EVERYONE. He considered filtering it away from Armand, but assumes he won't come and so wants him to see the invite in hopes that he'll be annoyed by it.]
Hello, everyone. [Slow, brilliant smile.] I know some of you, others of you... have merely corresponded with me. But all of you lovely, and even you not so lovely people are invited to join me here for a night of drinks and music and dancing.
Adrian, darling, I think you had said something about having music that charming man had sung? Perhaps you should bring that with you.
I have a respectable supply of liquor, but anyone wishing to contribute more is welcome to do so. I'm sure someone will make it worth your while...
You may start arriving whenever you like. I shall be here, enjoying myself and hopefully soon enjoying you all as well, late into the night...
[The video remains on for a few seconds, and then Dorian remembers to turn it off, and leans forward to do so.]
[Respond here if you want to respond to the message. The party itself is taking place in the logs, coming shortly. The time that Dorian's message was posted is around 9 pm, and so the party starts at 9 as people arrive.]
