Rough-ish start to a busy day.

We spent most of the night last night at a football stadium elsewhere in the county watching Danny’s JV football team score a 27-13 victory. The guys really needed this win, too. They’ve worked SO hard, and now they’re at 2 wins, 2 losses and a tie. Sorry, stats folks. I don’t know how to write that out!

It was absolutely beautiful out, and fall-like. So chilly that I actually broke down and got Joe to get me a hot chocolate. Autumn, really, truly is here! The high today is only going to be in the low-to-mid 70s. I’m not sure how I feel about that…I’m not used to these kinds of temperatures till late October!

Since I am off work today, my alarm went off at 6 AM so that I can get Danny up and into the shower. My next alarm is supposed to go off at 6:40, so that I can get Joe up to do the same. As usual, I got Danny up at 6.

Well, I woke up from the best sleep I’ve probably had all week - the kind of sleep that comes from just KNOWING that things are rolling along smoothly and that you’ll be woken up soon by your very reliable alarm - at 7:10 AM!!! I checked my alarm, and it either wasn’t even set to begin with, or I turned it off in my sleep not even realizing what I’d done.

My husband was here and awake, and he KNOWS approximately what time I get the kids up for school. I don’t know why he didn’t wake me up before then. But then again, it seems I only exist here to take care of things so I can’t really be too surprised. I am not too surprised. Most days I love being invisible here, but it’s so annoying on the rare occasions when I could have actually used his help.

So we did get off to a late start and Joe had to go without a shower this morning. I think he got one last night, so he should be okay. But regardless….there wasn’t time for it this morning. These things happen, right?

Otherwise, it’s been good. Since getting home, I’ve gotten the trash out of the house & to the curb and balanced the checkbook. I have a ton of housework and meal planning/budgeting to do, but I think I’m going to just chill for a while. Hopefully get caught up on some blog reads while listening to the latest shuffles at Music Savvy Mom.

Oh, and I have a new show added to my concert list! I’m going to see Hank III here in November. Whooo! It’s exactly a week after the Type O show in Atlanta, and a few days before the 100 Monkeys show in Nashville. It looks like I *may* be headed to at least some of these shows solo, which weirds me out just a bit. I’ll be fine on my own, though. I used to never enjoy going to movies by myself, either. I am meeting others at the Monkeys and III will be local, so I’m not worried about those. But I am still hoping someone might at least be along for the ride for Type O, since it’s kind of far away.

Oh, and Daughtry is touring with Theory of a Deadman opening. I hope to catch either the Birmingham or Memphis show. I guess we’ll have to see. I’ve already missed over half the shows I wanted to see this year!
