Such a slacker! Thursday 13, week 35

Sep 03, 2009 09:19

I don’t have a Thursday 13 for this week, either. At least, not really. I’ve spent the week being partly busy and productive, and partly just trying to rest and relax. So, here’s a list of things which make me very happy this week:
  • 1. Danny’s football team winning 25-7 in their first game of the season. Way to go, guys!
  • 2. Getting my signed Spencer Bell Legacy Concert poster. Hey, I didn’t get to make it out to the show, but am glad I’m still able to have a small piece of it! You can get one, too! And the money raised is going to a great cause.
  • 3. Scoring a retro metal serving cart for only $5. I’ve been coveting one of these for quite some time now, and I finally found one. Sure, it needs a thorough cleaning, new casters, tlc, and several coats of Rustoleum, but it will be gorgeous when I’m finished with it! Now…should I paint it Robin’s Egg Blue, Flamingo Pink, or Lime Green? I like blue the best, but I already have some cookware and Pyrex in the pink and green. But mostly the pink.
  • 4. More thrifted saucers. I wasn’t going to get them, but they were about $0.25 each. I couldn’t talk myself out of them. Unfortunately, none match any of the saucer-less cups on my shelves, either.
  • 5. So many movies I can’t wait to see are coming up this fall and winter! I may need a second job to plan trips to the theater.
  • 6. The new Charlaine Harris/Sookie Stackhouse and Joe Hill novels. Charlaine’s won’t be released till next spring, and I’m not sure about Joe Hill’s. But I am still looking forward to them!
  • 7. More concert plans! Gwar, Moonspell, Satyricon, Skinny Puppy, Black Crowes, Cage the Elephant, Kentucky Headhunters, Tonic, Collective Soul, Saving Abel, The Fray, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus…hopefully I’ll be able to catch Green Day on the second leg of their North American tour sometime next year. And I just got wind that there are TENTATIVE plans for one of my favorites to tour this fall, but I’m not naming them because it’s not official and I don’t want to jinx it!
  • 8. The very pleasant temperatures we’ve been having. Makes me feel like we might actually have an autumn this year instead of going straight from summer to winter.
  • 9. HALLOWEEN!!! ‘Nuff said.
  • 10. The Scream Awards.
  • 11. A few writing gigs and projects lined up. And they couldn’t have come at a better time!
  • 12. Seeing fall/winter boots on store shelves. Especially the adorable, Victorian-inspired booties! And there are plenty of t-strap pumps in a variety of pleasing styles (um…spectator/wingtip anyone?) as well.
  • 13. The season finale of True Blood: Season 2. I should NOT be looking forward to this, as after the season finale there will be no more Eric Northman to drool over till June of 2010. I’m not too worried about passing the time during the fall and winter, since the next several months are going to be a whirlwind of extra work hours, holiday preparation, holidays themselves, and massive amounts of travel. But from February to June? It’s really going to suck. Ooh, I made a (terrible) “pun”-ny.

And a bonus, I get to have lunch w/one of my besties, Tiff of Rock ‘n’ Write, tomorrow!

Tell me….what are you looking forward to for the next several months?
