Weekend wrapup.
Currently: Cold! WTF?
Yeah, I’ve got nothing better than that. I am coming off a great weekend, though!
We got some bad (in other words, my kind of) weather Friday afternoon. I woke up after a nap, checked email, and went by the bank. It was barely sprinkling, but was starting to thunder when I left. Nothing bad at all, though. After the bank, I decided to stop into the nearby thrift store because I hadn’t been in there in a while. I was in there maybe fifteen minutes when tornado sirens started going off. Everyone gathered at the back by one of their tvs, and there were news vans out in MY neighborhood! I had my arms full of stuff, so I checked out, debating whether or not to stay put and wait it out or try to make it home. In the end, I opted to try to make it home. I wasn’t very far, and I knew to abandon my car and get in one of our many handy ditches if I needed to. I also couldn’t stand the thought of my little dog being by herself out here. She doesn’t like thunder & such.
Anyway, that was my haul. Twelve cloth napkins, an old Pyrex bowl, a Canonsburg plate, and four Homer Laughlin “Virginia Rose” plates, all for $10.99.
On Saturday, I did more thrifting. Pics of that (small) haul after I get the stuff cleaned up! Tiffani and I went to eat at Rosies, then headed out to the Pygmies show. I don’t know why, but I just haven’t really been feeling the shows lately. I mean, I had a great time, of course! But I have to pretty much talk myself into going every time. I admit that, while I *LOVE* the band still….I only go if I know my friends are going to be there. I don’t want to quit being included or quit getting invited places because I’m no fun anymore! Anyway, these girls and I are headed out to see Bon Jovi/Daughtry later this month. Tiffani got our tickets months ago, but I am just now FINALLY starting to get a bit excited. Is it wrong that I am more excited about an overnight trip out of town with my girlfriends than I am about the actual show? Cause I kind of am. I haven’t heard anything newer by Bon Jovi in years, but they still have a special place in my heart from back in the hair band days! I do like Daughtry a lot, though, for heavier pop. Anyway…we are gonna throw down! Hey, Tiff, one of us should make a mix CD so we can sing along loudly and (in my case!) badly, like high school fangirls on the way up there!
Now it is Monday, and a COLD one at that. My oldest son has a doctor’s appointment here in a while, so we’ll do that. Then hopefully I won’t be wiped out by the time we are done, so I can clean some more in here. This place needs it badly! But the need to snuggle up in my cozy bed with my book may win out. Our temps are going to dip down to freezing tonight!
