It’s just like retail therapy, only you dig around amongst dusty, dirty things and sometimes come away with some real treasures! I hit three thrift stores and a flea market today. Here’s my haul:
3 dinner plates, 6 bread/butter & dessert plates, 5 saucers, and one tabbed plate. All bought for about $4.50.
Let me break it down:
Dinner plates….
Sevron Carousel pattern. I seriously may start collecting this pattern, because it has my favorite colors: pink, black, and grey. 1 @ $0.50.
Only stamped with “Made in China” on the back. 1 @ $0.50.
Looks like the stamp on the back says “Ever Yours Boutonniere” by Taylor, Smith, and Taylor. 1 @ $0.50.
Tabbed plate….
Free Form by Salem, Daybreak Turquoise pattern. 1 @ $0.25.
Dessert plates….
Also snagged a Modern Star saucer. $0.25 each.
Mayer China Co. USA 382. 2 @ $0.50 each.
Bread/Butter plates….
Unidentified pattern. Marcrest Swiss Chalet. 2 @ $0.25 each.
Not stamped. Looks very similar to my
Star Glow dinner plate, only the graphics on this dish are metallic gold instead of yellow. 1 @ $0.25.
Saucers….
Unidentified pattern. 2 @ $0.25 each.
Unidentified pattern. 1 @ $0.25.
Homer Laughlin; stamped with ‘Best China’ on the back; unidentified pattern. 1 @ $0.25.
Cup….
Homer Laughlin; stamped with ‘Best china’ on the back, unidentified pattern. 1 @ $0.25.
I actually put a
Green Field saucer back because it wasn’t marked and I didn’t know what it was till I got home and started looking patterns up online.
I also got this adorable Tiki Tray:
Thin plastic, but very colorful. I’m only going to use it as decoration in my very kitschy kitchen. $0.10.
But the very best buy of the day HAS to be this very rockin’ vintage office chair:
Has a ‘Steelchairs by Harter’ logo on back. It has a tear and some rust, but is still comfy and turns and rolls really good despite the rust, and whatever its age may be.
Back view.
How much? ONLY $5!!!!
That means for just over $10 (+ tax) I got all this fabulous stuff! I am VERY excited! (and yes, I probably did the math wrong at some point. If I did, there’s no need to correct me because I already know I’m really bad at adding and keeping up with a bunch of numbers !)
