Page load issues & such
Every now and then, some of you tell me that my page takes forever to load, even with Firefox and great connections and all that. And for some of you, my site graphics don’t load. I don’t doubt that. However, I don’t know what the problem is, therefore I don’t know how to fix it. I installed FasterFox so I could see how long it takes my page to load.
Here’s the deal: My page’s graphics and blog posts loaded for me anywhere from less than a second to six seconds. The sidebar trailed behind, with the status bar saying something along the lines of ‘transferring from blogrolling.rpc’, and it taking anywhere from six to fifteen seconds and beyond for the rest of the content below my blogrolls to load and the status to say ‘done’.
I compared this to several other pages, and mine didn’t load drastically slower than anyone else’s page for me. Photobucket is my host, and if the graphics don’t load, they may be having issues. Or not. I’m really not sure. Anyway….if anyone is having trouble, I don’t know what to tell you. Except maybe try it in the google reader, though that won’t help if you decide to leave a comment. For those of you who can’t see the design, here it is, along with a screencap of my myspace page. (though if you can’t see my images, I doubt you’ll be able to see the screencaps, either).
