Happy 4th!

Did everyone have a good one? I am now OFFICIALLY on vacation till next Wednesday!

Last night I made one of my weekly treks to the skating rink. This older fellow nearly took me out. He just fell in front of me. RIGHT in front of me, and he went sideways, so there was no way around him. I couldn’t slow down, let alone stop, since I was about 2 feet behind him to begin with. And I damn sure wouldn’t have cleared him if I tried to jump over him. I ended up plowing into him with both skates and flying. Despite landing on an elbow and knee without protective gear, I am unhurt. I don’t even have any bruises (well, except for a teensy one on my elbow that I didn’t notice till today), and I didn’t even tear my scabbed-over knee from last week. I don’t feel like I hit a hard wooden floor at all. As I’ve said before, it’s a good thing I’m a tough old broad! Can’t say the same for the fella; he got kicked with a skate somewhere because he tried getting up before I had landed. He insisted he was okay, but I think he left after that. I feel really bad, but I didn’t have time to move and once I started to fall, that was it.

I worked this morning, and just got back from dinner at my inlaws’. I am just trying to get caught up here…..bought myself some blue raspberry rum runners, and they are in the freezer getting nice and cold. I’ll be going out to work in the yard once it cools off some. Then, I make my packing list, which already should have been done, and start doing my laundry and packing. All while I enjoy blue raspberry rum runners and probably a lot of Jimmy Buffet music.

Tomorrow is our 4th wedding anniversary! Can you all believe it’s been that long already? I don’t know if the hubby has anything planned for me, but I will be spending at least some of the time tomorrow shopping for last minute items, getting my banking done, finishing packing, giving myself a pedicure, and trying to get some sleep because it’s going to be an EARLY day Friday. My hubby will probably spend most of the day on his computer. We’re such old, boring married folks, I swear!
