Damn. This past Friday I went to get the boys their pool. We worked on it all weekend, used no telling how much water, and still the thing is only about 1 & 1/2 feet deep because the yard is so un-level. Every clever trick I could think of as far as placing the pool in an ideal spot was completely and utterly useless. So…..the neighbor offered us some wood and stakes and sometime this week, we are going to build a giant ’sandbox’, make that level, and put the pool in it. The boys only have two weekends left here with me before their month-long visit with their dad….this one and next….so I really want them to be able to enjoy them.

Speaking of weekends, I have a long-overdue girls’ night out coming up this weekend! Since I am VERY leery of discussing where I’ll be going this far beforehand, I’ll just say that the break is much-needed and I am very excited. I can absolutely NOT wait!

Thanks so much for all the well-wishes and comments you all sent me last week. I appreciate them so much! And it took a while, but the ear infection is gone. The sinus crud remains.

Not much else has been going on, aside from work, housework, football, and working. I’ve been in quite a slump lately, though I am not sure it’s a ’slump’. And I know I’ve been in a slump of some sort for a while now. Though I have good days, the bad days just keep getting worse. Now it seems more like a descent straight into ‘Okay-it’s-time-to-see-a-shrink’ territory, for which I am quite unprepared. Sigh. Maybe I just need the night out and the vacation. Guess I will have to wait and see. In the meantime, I’ve tried soothing myself with the kids, lots of mindless tv, movies, and the interesting stuff that went down recently on some message boards that I frequent.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend, and that the daddies (as well as moms who do it all) had a wonderful Father’s Day. Rock on!
