I can’t wait to get started!
Decorating my living room, that is! It’ll have a really cool, loungy feel, since it’s also our home theater. My new sofa is being delivered Monday evening. I’ve decided on a cherry and light oak diamond pattern on the floor. Very whimsical, ‘Alice in Wonderland’-y….but not stark black and white. There will be hanging Morrocan lanterns in key places. I’ve already ordered them! Unconventional window treatments. The walls will be decorated with rock and roll and movie memorabilia along with family photos and kids’ artwork. A rich, not-too-light, not-too-dark purple will color all the walls except for the wall where the tv is located. That wall will be rich red, since it adjoins the dining room. And most likely, I’ll either strip the white crown moulding and stain it cherry, or just paint it a glossy black. I’ll have to see when I get further into my project. I’ve already estimated the painting costs, and will be good to go here soon. I know it must sound like quite a mish-mash of clashing things, but honestly? This is the first plan I’ve come up with that I can actually ’see’ in my head….and I like it!
