So glad the weekend is over

Feb 26, 2007 07:56

I have never liked weekends. Ever. Everything is different over the weekend, even the tv lineups. When I was a teenager, it was just a long stretch of boredom and pity-partying because I didn’t date and never got invited to hang out or do things with other people. As an adult, the weekends are just fraught with stress and activity. I’m always a little ‘off’ on weekends anyway, just because there our schedules are totally shot, and I am a creature of habit of the worst kind.

So yeah, I am glad the weekend is over, because I am exhausted.

And I have had it with my kids. As in ‘Samuel L. Jackson has had-it-with-those-motherfuckin’-snakes-on-that-motherfuckin’-plane’ had it. I think they got whatever was in their systems out, but each of them acted a total asshole this weekend, effectively ruining each day. Saturday it was the youngest, and yesterday it was the oldest.

Saturday I got up early and the youngest and I went to support the oldest and his football team at their pancake breakfast:

7 a.m. on a SATURDAY morning. Can’t you tell someone doesn’t enjoy being up this early? No, I’m not hung over. And I brushed my hair, I swear I did! Oh, and I’m not an alien, either. In case some of you were wondering.

This was taken this morning at the pancake breakfast for my oldest son’s football team.

My oldest son. Taken Saturday morning at his football team’s pancake breakfast. He got to play waiter for a few hours.

My youngest son. Taken this morning at the middle school football team’s pancake breakfast.

Went to see Ghost Rider yesterday. I know a lot of you said/think/were told it is crap….but I loved it!

Now? It is time for work. I am sorry if I have been remiss in posting and keeping up with everyone, but paperwork….it has taken over my life. I’ve been busy organizing the good stuff, and now that I have a shredder, I’ve been shredding junk mail and outdated documents with wild abandon and glee.
