Local dialect meme:

What do you call:

1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks.
I generally call it a creek or a storm drain.

2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called.
Shopping cart. Sometimes just a cart.

yes, i know i'm supposed to go answer it in my own blog, but i think it's funnier if i reply to your questions so we can see how we match up... i think we're both fairly normal/midwestern. nothing horribly suth'n about our speech... colloquialisms... nope! lol

but you can tell i grew up overseas. oops. ♥

1. stream or creek.
2. cart or trolley.
3. lunch pail.
4. skillet or griddle. lol
5. sofa!!
6. (same: gutter)
7. patio.
8. (same: DAMN STRAIGHT IT'S SIMPLY SODA.)
9. griddles or pancakes! i ♥ pancakes. ^^
10. (same: sub, e.g. subway. lol)
11. trunks, shorts.
12. (same, mostly.)
13. tidying, straightening up.
14. (way totally the same - whatever i say first. OMG LIGHTNING BUG!)
15. pill bug! until i came to the US i never called them rolly-pollys. lol
16. (same: teeter-totter. definitely, unless i'm being literary, then i'll write it as a see-saw.)
17. fork and knife if it's piping hot, otherwise by lifting out a slice and eating from the triangular point up to the crust, which generally gets devoured. then i lick my fingers. i hope this explanation suffices! :D
