Wow, I just had the best day in a long while! I got my prep work done in record time. I usually take about three and a half hours to do it but today I got it done in two and a quarter! Nice! So I helped out until quitting time at 9 and came home. There was a little bit of business to deal with when I got home but after that I’ve just had the most awesome time. ^_^
Today my dad took my sister, his friend and me out on a boating trip around where some rivers meet the ocean. It was so much fun. I got to spend some time with my sister, whose down for a week and hang with my dad. His friend was cool too. I wasn’t expecting him to come, but I’m glad he did. He’s quiet but has a razor sharp wit to match my dads. They work together or something.
But anyway, we took off and followed the markers for depth out to the deep water. I say deep, but that’s just relative to where it wasn’t deep. It was maybe 12 feet deep along the channel until we got past the last marker. Then it got maybe 15. They said it stays like that for about three miles till the shelf ends and it just about makes a vertical drop of about 300 feet. Man, anything over my head is too deep for me.
It was fun riding the waves on the boat. It would make the whole thing jump up and down. And we saw all sorts of fish and animals. There was a medium sting ray with a little baby attached to it. And a HUGE ray floating along just as he pleased. There where tons of dolphins. They got pretty close to the boat, too, when we were going pretty fast. My dad tried to make out like they were sharks at fist, but I saw their fins and no shark has a fin like that. He gave it a nice try, though. ^^ But they stayed in one area like they were fishing or something. We saw pelicans, of course, and great blue herons. And ibis, and white herons and all kinds of water plants. I hadn’t been boating in such a long time I had forgotten how much I like it.
He’s offered it to me for a while now, but I had always had something up at the time. Now it looks like I’ll be having plenty of free time to boat around and have fun. And fishing is great, too. Some lady in a boat we passed was positively struggling with something big when we first went out. That was cool to watch. We went up to where the river meats the ocean and I couldn’t believe how clear the water was. And, since it was from a spring, I tasted a bit of it and it was crystal clear! While we were driving home it rained a bit then ended and I could see farther off where it was still raining. We were in the sun but it was raining about 20 miles away from us. It wasn’t verga, which is when you see rain far off that evaporates before it touches the earth, but it made a really splendid picture with all the varying grays. I would have taken a picture but I had run out of memory on the trip back down the river. I must have taken a hundred pictures. I’m going to go and filter out the good ones and maybe put them up somewhere a bit later. Right now I think I’m going to read my new manga again. It’s called imadoki and its really fun to read so I’m reading it again. Maybe I’ll be back online later, if I'm not hanging out with my sis. I just came on to write these things down while they were fresh in my mind. I’ll look around the net later. See ya!
