We can't undo those shitty Hulk movies, but we can damn sure avenge them.

Kittens, I am starting to wonder if I'm going to make it to the Avengers premiere without blowing a blood vessel from excitement.

I was so, so reluctant to get my hopes up that they'd actually make an Avengers movie, and that it would be anywhere close to watchable. Let's face it: the Hulk movies, X3, Wolverine...all terrible. X-Men First Class was really good, but I remember them announcing that movie around the time of X2, which means sometime in 2002-2003, so eight years I waited for that thing (WORTH IT). But my point is, I was afraid it would never happen, or it would happen and it would be awful. But the Iron Mans were good, and that made me think maybe it wouldn't all end in tears. Still, even when it was announced Joss was on board for Avengers I was all, "HAHAHA I REMEMBER WONDER WOMAN. STILL NOT GETTING MY HOPES UP."

Then summer of 2011 rolled around, and Thor was decent, and then Captain America was goddamn amazing and brilliant, and there were all those Avengers photos and interviews popping up, and I'm not even lying, I remember the first time I saw a picture from the Avengers set I stared at my computer in utter diseblief that IT WAS ACTUALLY HAPPENING.

And then my willpower gave out, and now my hopes are up up up, and I am breathless with anticipation and wallowing in ALL AVENGERS ALL THE TIME mode.

I've been reblogging Avengers stuff like a madwoman on Tumblr, and rewatching the other movies (except the Hulk ones, because UGH) on a pretty much constant basis. I've also been downloading a ton of Avengers stuff from the AO3. I've read, well, about four stories, but that's because I'm too busy downloading even more stories to read the ones I already have. But stories have been acquired!

(There is, of course, a method to my madness, because in a few weeks when Yuletide makes the archive grind to a halt for a month and everyone else is crying into their keyboards because they can't get their AO3 fix, I'll be happily working my way through all the new exciting unread stories on my Kindle!)

(Is 200 stories enough? I still have time to download more.)

(What am I saying? Of course that's not enough.)

And then, the point at which I had to finally admit what's going: I made an Avengers playlist for my iPod. THERE IS NO TURNING BACK NOW.

I also dug out some of my Avengers comics, which I haven't actually had time to re-read yet (see above re: downloading stories and stalking Tumblr) but that's not the point, the point is that I AM SO EXCITED and that feels kind of good, after languishing in between fandoms since SGA ended. Almost three years ago, people!

In conclusion: I'M BACK! AVENGERS! \o/
