various turkey weekend ramblings

so, got up thursday and cooked. got a late start as usual because i overslept. planned dinner for 4, didnt eat till 6. i guess its a good thing of sorts since mom n dad didnt show up till after 530. sis was helping w/ the gravy and greens and said 'you told them THIS thursday right?' because it's never like them to be THAT late. they were helping clean up at the volunteer feast and ended up coming home with a whole other feast. the back of their car was full of food. got fooooooooooooooooooood comaaaaaaaaa and konked out cold for a few minutes. mom n dad left earlyish and sis stayed around and puttered with computers, swapping hard drives around. she couldnt figure out one of the mounting brackets and was getting frustrated. a brief moment of bright light above my head...and i got it in place. then trying to get it back out for her...took a chunk of skin off my knuckle. she got it herself the next time. i asked if she got it, and she said 'yes, with no skin involved' lol.
didnt do a bit of shopping friday, no money to do that and no inclination to deal with crowds. i slept till almost noon too. didnt get much of anything done around the house.
today....planned to go to the light parade downtown but it was cancelled due to the rain. dh played golf....which i dont normally mind. but when i want to do something with him, i get a bunch of excuses and alternate plans. but one of his friends wants to do something, and he's jumping on it.
for dinner, i threw some leftover bird, red beans n rice, onion and carrots in the crockpot. its pretty good, but one son doesnt like it, the other ate it, the tot fell asleep before she could eat, and dh isnt home yet to turn his nose up at it.
the dog got out twice today....chased the alternate mail carrier, so i almost didnt get my mail today. of course the mail comes late when my paycheck is delivered. i got the check around 4, and the bank closes earlier than that. the upside is that i have my paycheck.
