randomness
i feel like posting today...so i'll just do an entry about everything. =c]
today i went to chris's birthday party, (happy 18th, man!) which was a bbq at murdock park. it was interesting, cuz i was like the one underclassman there...and i was probably also the shortest. haha. it was awesome though, lots of good stuff to eat (hot dogs and watermelon = perfect summer food!) *ahem* "interesting" games (ooga booga! ooga booga! oh SHIT!) yummy cakes (screw professional desserts...i still think that christine's hideous brownies were the best, lol) cool people (though the only ones i really knew were chris, matt, jimmy, karen, jackie, diane, brian, christine, and that william hung look-alike guy whose name i forgot =P) some kick ass senior prom-askage (yay chris and emily) but best of all were the prezzzzents! among others, chris got score cards, a feather boa, a book about cows, a poster of carmen elektra naked, a wind-up robot, a night-light, and...a leapord-printed bra. which was a size 38-C. and didn't fit chris. LOL.
yesterday in the morning, i took a practice SAT. without really trying, i did aiite, 1420...which makes me happy cuz i hear that the avg berkeley score is like 1370. plus, i have a year to improve. annnnnd they're changing the SAT's, taking out the two sections i suck at: qc's and analogies. yay. i want a 2250 on the new one. (it's out of 2400.)
hmm...ah yes, we have one more week before spring break, and this week will be mostly star testing, and some other stuff here and there (i still have a math test on friday...eep.) so when break finally gets here, i'll be home for the first few days, then on wednesday morning, i'm leaving for our choir tour to new york! yay, i can't wait. i've been working hella hard on tour music lately, and i'm so anxious to leave the bay area. living here gets so mundane after a while...i think a change of scenery will be refreshing and exciting.
in other news, my house, over the past month or so, has turned into a zoo. seriously. my former pet-hating parents have gone animal crazy and let into our home a dwarf rabbit, a hamster, three finches, and a goldfish. add to that my two brothers, and there's never a dull moment around here anymore. haha.
what else...everything else is going alright. work is fun, one of my bosses, jennifer, is moving to san diego with her boyfriend in a few weeks, which is sad...she's my favorite boss. =/ everyone else is cool - being at work is like having a getaway from everything else. having a shift with angela, sally, chris, iv, alex, joyce, evan, or mark is awesome. i just love spending time there, love knowing that i'm helping kids, and knowing that they're teaching me to share knowledge and have compassion. it's nice.
oh, here's the turmoil in my life right now. i really have two summers left before i leave for college, and for both of those summers, i want to go to debate camp and do an internship. problem is, they conflict like crazy. i got this one governmental internship which seems really interesting, but i won't be able to go to the camp i had originally intended to go to (vbi @ ucla) if i take that internship. the other option is to find another place to intern, possibly dealing with law, that's a little more flexible and lets me go to camp for two weeks. if you live in the san jose area and know of any semi-flexible gov'tal or law internships for this summer, let me know.
other than that, there's the regulars. debate's going semi-alright. i feel like i've gotten progressively worse this year, or just gotten progressively more jacked. i didn't break at scu2, which is kinda alright, kinda not, cuz it's a wack tournament with dumb judges, but...iono. i've still been breaking and placing pretty regularly, but like...i don't like not doing well. sigh.school is also pretty normal, but i really am waiting for this year to end. next year, i'll be free of spanish (thank god...i don't think i've ever hated a class more) PE (haha then i can become fat and out of shape again, yay) and chamber choir (concert next year! it's gonna rock.) except...then i get burdened with ap us history, pre-calc, chem ap, ap tests, the SATI and 3 SATII's. joy.
mm...it's kinda interesting how stuff loses its relevence after a couple of days. i should really keep up with my journal daily, cuz otherwise all the semi-important stuff i'd like to post about and have a record of loses itself to the more important stuff. yeah.
alrighty, that's about it for now. maybe i'll edit and post some pictures (haha my brother and i took this one adorable pic this morning of out bunny in an easter basket with a ribbon around its neck and eggs everywhere.) i'll try to keep up with this thing more. byyyye. =]
