11. Glasses
His alarm clock didn’t go off on time, or rather, it never went off at all, and he almost missed Jaejoong’s last attempt at waking him. Luckily he wasn’t really into high maintenance grooming or stealing fashion awards. It took him maybe thirty seconds to pull on some shorts, a shirt, and locate his ugly thick framed glasses on the nightstand beside him. He wasted twice as much time trying to find his room and bike keys, but he eventually found them in the front pocket of some pants lying under other garments in need of washing.
Not trying be late, Yunho practically flew down four flights of stairs because the elevator didn’t follow his command to open after he pressed the down button ten times in a matter of two seconds. He got outside and unchained his bike in record time, concluding his morning with an amazing five minute rush from Jaejoong’s annoying voice to racing down a crowded sidewalk to get all the way across campus. He couldn’t miss another lesson of Calculus, he would fail for sure.
However, when Yunho arrived to class an hour late, he didn’t actually want to go in. He’d rather not attract too much attention, and he had already dressed up like a clown, he knew with certainty of it. The failing student almost tempted his chancing at not getting caught taking notes from outside the classroom. He halted only when he caught sight of the teacher and stopped sweating buckets, thank God it’s a substitue! Yunho scooped up his bag and headed toward the back entrance, he was going to class whether he liked it or not.
That plan failed immediately when the double doors squeaked like cackling witches and all the eyes in the auditorium turned to him. He saw it from his seat, Jaejoong shaking his head and covering his face with his fingers. Fine, Yunho didn’t like his fingers anyway, too many veins in his opinion. There was no turning back, he spotted the closest seat to sit, also the last seat in the furthest row back, and unpacked his books, taking everything in stride.
“Ah, finally, the class hunk all the girls tittered about. Sorry, but this class has very low standards. I expect to see you afterwards, Mr. Jung.” The sub sneered, his perfect hair and plump lips intimidating. Maybe his height intimidated Yunho the most, the other probably had at least two or three centimeters on him. And he had a sexy smirk. Yunho frequently lost to sexy smirks.
Class ended an hour later with Yunho perpetually lost. He had no idea how to do any of the mumbo jumbo calculations Changmin, the name the females in the class so endearingly called out when they asked questions that Yunho frankly needed asked, taught to them. His fellow students left when the last question was answered, and that jerk Jaejoong didn’t even spare him a glance on his way out! Hiding his embarrassment, Yunho made his shameful walk to the teacher’s podium.
“Well, Yunho, how would you like for me to leave a lengthy letter to your teacher about you work ethic?” The threat was light, as if Changmin would put in the effort to scorn his name.
“Empty threats, University teachers only care that you pay for the classes, not that you show up and do well. What else you got?”
“Oh?” Changmin smirked again. “Would your middle aged teacher not be heartbroken to see one of her favorite students kissing a man?” Yunho didn’t have time to register the meaning behind the substitute’s words because it all became clear instantly. Changmin removed Yunho’s glasses and tossed them aside before planting his lips onto Yunho’s. He stole the student’s breath, taking what wasn’t his to take and flaunting his dominance by easily pushing Yunho’s back against the podium.
“What?” Yunho asked breathlessly, not even trying to wiggle out of the substitute’s embrace.
Changmin smiled with mix-matched eyes, lazily stroking the side of Yunho’s face. “You’re such a bad student. I subbed for your marketing class last week, but instead of skipping, your face made friends with your textbook for the entire lecture. You really did look good without those glasses on. Stay away from Hawaiian shirts while we’re talking style.”
It was Yunho’s turn to amp up the arrogance. “Psh, please, I look good with those glasses on, too. Admit it.” All Changmin could do was chuckle, letting his laughter echo in the big auditorium for Yunho to enjoy.
