Presents .....
Have you ever get presents that you don't really like ... and something in the corner of your mind thinking "Why s/he gives me this ??!!" and the person who gave the present or other people in the room can read your facial expression and they will say
"the important is the thought behind it"
Right .... The thought behind giving the present ... that suppose to make you appreciate the present more and thankful for that ….
Sometime I think … does the person really though of me when giving the presents??!!!
I’ll be alright with crappy presents from people that hardly know me or someone only know me for a little bit of time … But for all my friends who knows me for years and years and years …. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING ANYWAY?
“The important is the thought behind it”. If my friends who already know me for more than 4 years give me crappy presents, they don’t really think is it? They just give for the matter of giving …
I don’t like give just a matter of giving from my friends … I rather have them spend quality time with me that give me just a box of chocolate (yeah right … after years and years know me that all they can come out with … that’s pathetic! Even people who know me just several months know I like chocolate … and I end up with 3-4 boxes of chocolate … all off the selves … no special). Especially on my birthday, I don’t want to end up getting a box of chocolate that I’m still having in after 2 years because I have too much chocolate! I rather have people spending entire day with me on my birthday.
Now … if you one of those people really don’t know what to give me and end up asking what I want … please get it! I know what I want and I know roughly the limit of the person asking so I’m sure that what I ask s/he will able to afford and get it (never asking for a star anyway) … but hey … still didn’t get what I want. Yes, they end up buying something else! Gosh people, what is the point of asking?!
You think I’m ungrateful person … well I’m not. But I don’t like to see things waste and only end up at dusty corner of my room.
For some people who try to think what to get me, they will start to think things what I like ….
- chocolate, again no more chocolate unless you absolutely sure that I will like it because it’s so unique and different than any other chocolate that I will eat and eat and eat it
- Plushies, I have enough thank you. If you know me you know I already have so much and too much for my age
- Anime. Just because I like to watch a certain anime, doesn’t mean I like to have all the merchandise, plushies, toys, posters, etc from that anime. No, I like watching anime because I like watching it. I like some anime merchandise like necklace because I like the necklace (doesn’t mean I like the anime or the character in the anime that wearing the necklace)
- Same with animal. I might Skipper the penguin from Madagascar (size 1 meter), 2 Mumbles from Happy Feat doesn’t mean I like EVERTHING that is a penguin or resembles of the penguin. (Penguins are cute, Huskies are adorable, orang utans are amazing, but I like horsies too!)
Now … that should narrow down what you think you can get me, if you really thinking about it…. ^_^ Are you really? Let me tell you once for all ….
I want a birthday cake on my birth day with candles of which birthday I’m celebrating exactly at my birthday time (yes, we might need to convert the time different).
I want a kimono, proper kimono, not yutaka. Kimono that I need to wear obi with it. Kimono that has white inner lining kina thing … but that too expensive (unless you found a sale somewhere - certainly not in this country)
There are few DVDs that I want to get. Ita has my Amazon list … but we might send the order soon, so let me know if you happily pay for me. ^-^ But all this DVDs I want it this year … no waiting for cheaper deal. Remember you get what you are paying for … cheap deal not necessary good quality and I don’t think broken DVD is be given as birthday presents.
But you know … it’s not hard to make me happy. Just make sure you spent time with me on my birthday (I’m not asking any other day)
