guys -- and blogging on LJ

Apropos of my recent post, saying I felt uncomfortable on FetLife and ExperienceProject (EP), a sweet friend (avenl2002) just commented that she had been referred to my blog by a male friend. It prompted me to comment back about how I've become more tolerant of men on LJ (albeit not so much on these other networking sites).

Since it's more broadly relevant, maybe, I'm repeating it here, in case anyone wonders why I am who I am:

Thanks for telling me, sweetie. I am continually pleased by the interaction with guys in the ebb and flow of the blog.

You know, I was still awfully anti-male back six years ago, when I started it. Not that I had overt reasons to dislike the boys then -- or before that, except some teasing/bullying way back in my school days. (Indeed, just prior to the blog, I'd spent time with therapists as I finally sought treatment for depression. My lifelong lesbianism prompted a bit of dredging for any repressed hatred of men; however, nothing useful emerged.)

Actually, I suspect that my early anti-macho pose resulted from TRYING to tap into true feelings, intimate issues -- as I figured out what I needed to say here.

Initially, enjoying the quantities of great sexy photgraphy on Flickr, I recall wanting to limit my posting choices to shots of women by women. But guys were out there on Flickr with delicious illustrations of that femininity which I sought. So I tempered my criteria, adding a few guys with outstanding work. But ONLY women IN the photos, please!

And THEN a couple of bi women I came to know teased me on the blog about resisting the notion of cocks pleasuring pussies, in their ineffable ways -- even as they agreed that girls-on-girls was the epitome of sexual delight. And they prodded me to show a man making love to a girl -- so I looked around for quite a while, conceding their point (though by no means letting one into my own bed!).

And there HAVE been a few of those photos in the past 18 months. And more guys commenting, and more wonderful male photogs.

So far, so good!
