Jane Birkin, 1969

Two guys named John McNab and Michael Donovan have a delicious collection of, well, call them "historic" photos -- though making Jane "historic" suggests I"m getting freakin' OLD.*

The guys refer to her as "the human embodiment of cool. " And that'd be MY definition as well. Jane was the object of Serge Gainesbourg's affection, and she can be famously heard sighing, moaning and otherwise carrying on, with Serge's pretty music in the foreground. It was a memorable hit song!

Interestingly, the guys make a point of "their" collected shots being available to anyone: "Repost the pictures, eat them, wear them when it's cold. Give them as Christmas presents. "

Back in the day, wearing Jane would sure have kept ME warm and happy!

PW 50 (nostalgia CAN be awfully arousing! Her panties may be off, but MINE are...er, moist!)
