the kiss II

the kiss II, originally uploaded by martian haemoglobin x.
A Belgian woman named Marsida Lekaj shot this dreamy photo. I think we can presume she punned her way to "martian," though why "haemoglobin" (the blood component) remains one of Flickr's many mysteries.

In her profile, she states: "... Here's my point of view, how [the] world is seen through my eyes, feelings and moods as intimate and personal [as] they can be"

That is as succinct and emphatic a statement as I've seen on Flickr. That feeling of getting one's inner self out there! It is why I love to wander the hills and valleys of personal photo Websites, why I literally feel rewarded for my modest efforts to appreciate the feminine in this amazing 21st century context.

Interestingly, speaking of rewards, Marsida picks up my own pet peeve -- lots of stupid "awards" peppering the comments that Flickr formats below each photo. (That rolling conversation among millions of people is one of thge special joys of Flickr. Who'd have known that when it started up??)

Anyhow, she pleads in her profile, "Please, i hate awarded comments. Be kind and do me a favor, if you want to post something on my picture's space, just leave a real comment, with real words..."

PW 28 (though it's a mirror shot, presumably, it feels like stealing a look at two girls kissing so intimately...ooooooh!)

kiss, martian
