David Ignatius, the Post's top man on intel and national security, has a terrific op-ed in the paper today.

"...[Upon] recovery from the coronavirus crisis and people are back to work, Rep. Adam B. Schiff thinks Congress should consider a 9/11-style independent commission to examine why the nation was so unprepared."

Trump will SHIT when it comes to his none-too-worty attention! Not least for the Schiff angle, givrn his reportedly continuing anger over the impeachment.

“'We will need to delay the work of the commission until the crisis has abated to ensure that it does not interfere with the agencies that are leading the response,' Schiff explained in an email." (Nicely coping with the pandemic's need to avoid in-person meeting!)

"...NSC staff, led by deputy Matthew Pottinger, a Chinese-speaking former Wall Street Journal correspondent in Beijing, was aggressive. The first interagency meeting on the Wuhan outbreak took place Jan. 14 ...according to a senior administration official.

"What accounts for the failure to translate this concern [over the looming crisis] into action? One explosive issue in any inquiry would be whether Trump discounted intelligence warnings because of concerns about the impact of the virus on his re-election campaign..."

And, yes, millions of Americans are THAT outraged at the awful Federal response! "Tresson" is not too strong s word! The bastard killed thousands!

Didn't you just love Putin's sending "help" -- rewarding his man Trumpsky?

error, crisis management, current events, decisive moment, drama, fault, faking it, desperation, firestarter, flirting dangerously, fall, dumb!
