I haven't yet spoken to The Don's most outrageous move -- well, the worst in the past couple of days, at least! (Selling out the Syrian Kurds and the whole Ukraine fiasco -- they're SO last-week)
I mean the giving of the 2020 G-7 meeting to HIS Doral hotel -- and the White House refusal to even provide information about how the contract had been decided.
Many Congressmen and -women, including some reluctant Repubs, found the self-dealing reprehensible. But one Repub Senator, Rick Scott (who had been the WORST Florida governor in recent memory, only to get himself elected to the U.S. Senate last year), fatuously said yesterday, "There's no conflict of interest in holding anything (sic!) in the great state of Florida."
How about a hanging?
The House is preparing a binding resolution to ban such manifest assholery. And one Congressman humorously noted that the situation had created, in effect, a new landmark, "the Washington Emolument."
A new "article of impeachment" (the proper "term of art") has thereby been created, to go alongside a half-dozen others being prepared at the moment.
