Finishing up the Arizona touring
I'm delighted that so many old friends read my piece three weeks ago, AND commented so kindly on it.
We're just finishing our AZ travels: went from Mesa (OMG is that a huge city -- but it's now got major freeways of its OWN, doing a good job of handling the intense traffic!) to Tucson (where we stayed with THREE sets of friends/relatives -- one way not to overstay our welcome).
Then we returned to Mesa (via the Florence-Oracle highway through spectacular high-desert scenery) and, after a few days with relatives, on north via a lovely new highway to Payson (the route even more gorgeous than the Oracle one, and completely new to me, a longtime AZ visitor).
The area along the "Mogollon Rim" (high mountains, complete with quite a bit of snow) is amazing.
Then on from Payson to Sedona, where an old pal of Joanne's offered sumptuous lodging with views of the stunning red-rock buttes and other sights. The two girls are out exploring right now -- and I got to sleep late, and catch up on my bloggery. (Which is overdue...)

(BTW all these tags are are a SMALL part if a collection I created 5-6 years ago. [I stopped collecting when LJ proposed charging for them, and promptly forgot about them. LJ somehow preserved that ancient history.] They refer to old LJ entries of mine, and occasionally I look up a few, and -- even less often -- I go through the list and tag all that seem marginally relevant to whatever I was blogging about. Which I just did this morning! Enjoy! Click on a few, please! Keep me "honest," as it were.)
