Politics make strained bedfellows...
You ever-kind friends here welcomed "subkatie" as my new girlfriend last August. It falls to me now to say, sadly, that the relationship has ended. I won't go into the reasons, but cannot resist telling you that POLITICS played a part.
I just responded to her farewell this morning by acknowledging "misunderstandings on both sides" in recent weeks -- compounded by the damned elections. I [had been] more than a little surprised by your vehement views on the [inadequate] candidates -- which is entirely your right -- and I mentioned my OWN sense Hillary was far from ideal. But I'll always be disappointed that we've been stuck with Trump because so many voters blindly rejected HER. You mentioned my politics as a factor in deciding we had reached an impasse..."
Alas, I doubt we're the only couple to break up over Trump...
