As I reported to you sweet-but-possibly-indifferent friends, "our" team here in Washington won BIG last weekend --
http://devifemme.livejournal.com/1956018.html "Jubilant, shrieking fans spilled from FedEx Field following Sunday’s victory -- surely the happiest fan base any 5-6 NFL team has ever had..."
And our unexpected pleasure is holding --
https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/the-redskins-have-found-first-place-the-trick-now-is-to-stay-there/2015/11/30/fa70cbc8-979a-11e5-8917-653b65c809eb_story.html The Post's on-line version of the above story is headlined: "The Redskins [sic!] have found first place. The trick now is to stay there." The print version was titled, "Not such a stretch."
Yet...
The next game is with Dallas on December 7 -- to unfold on the national stage of TV's "Monday Night Football". "The Cowboys are mired at the bottom of the division, [and now have] to win a game without Tony Romo* at quarterback. But no one expects they’ll lack motivation for the latest installment of the NFC East’s most-heated rivalry [--] even if it’s simply to spoil the Redskins’ [sic!] postseason hopes.
"That’s not lost on the Redskins’ [sic!] veterans."

Anyone interested in my "old tags" game might wonder at the word "foop." Well, someone decades ago inverted Shakespeare's "one fell swoop"... I like it, so I used it and tagged the result back five years ago.

*The 35-year-old QB suffered a broken left collarbone in the Thanksgiving Day loss to the Carolina Panthers (the current NFL phenom who, a mere four days previously, had tromped Washington). Romo is presumed out for the rest of the year. The Cowboys' top brass seem convinced that he "has 4-5 good years left..." Maybe.
