Lady Liberty abandons her proud pedestal
Today's Post has a terrific editorial cartoon by its staff artist Tom Toles. In the light of Republicans' outrageous threats against the Syrian "widows and orphans" (thanks, President Obama, you aptly skewered the "nativist" panderers), Toles has the Statue of Liberty cowering behind her pedestal in New York harbor.
His caption: "... until we can get the 'wrong way -- go back' sign installed."
