Example of finding Tumblr site from my silly list...

So, in the preceding post, I shared with you lovely readers a bunch of pretty cool blog-names on Tumblr, and I said I was curious about who/what they ACTUALLY were. So I chose one that piqued my curiosity, and looked up "aleajactaesst.tumblr.com" (yes, there's an extra "s"...); here's a photo chosen by the blogger: http://ultradevi.tumblr.com/post/130110464862/justine-tumblr-of-an-18-year-old-brazilian-named (I performed a bit of magic to make it into an URL you can click...)

Well, the 18-year-old Brazilian girl* is, in fact, named Lais; the slogan in this photo says, “on the wall of my heart, love is the prettiest picture.” This is the site called (in Latin -- I'm guessing she studied at a parochial school, where Latin still survives) “the die is cast” - the classic Caesar quote as his army crossed the Rubicon river, defying the Consuls at Rome and committing him to their overthrow. (Throwing dice started as a Roman gambling game; once they're thrown, well, you're stuck with the number -- win or lose.)

The rest, as they say, is history. (You can look it up...)

* You sweet readers may recall I spent almost five years working in Brazil in the 1980s; I knew "Lais" is a girl's name. (Brazilians love classic Greco-Roman names for their kids; I knew a typical example, a musician named Vinicius.)

come-on look, comments, google (the verb), climax
