Our far-flung correspondents!

Woohoo! I posted last night about my Czech LJ friends, Anna and Dana -- who happened to attend the very performance of Hamlet in London when Benedict Cumberbatch turned a curtain-call into a highly political moment. He demanded that the British and other European governments do MORE and do it MORE QUICKLY to aid the desperate Syrian refugees.

For those LJ pals who read the post (http://devifemme.livejournal.com/1868969.html), let me urge you to read Anna's wonderful response to my scribbles. Terrific coincidence: weeks ago, I'd kidded her about attending the star-turn of her idol, Benedict, who is playing the Prince of Denmark in a special staging of the Shakespeare classic. So, when I saw a couple of sentences last evening that she'd written on her Tumblr blog (called "Cumberbatchitis," and devoted to the BBC's Sherlock Holmes), I happily wrote about it. She promptly wrote back, confirming her chat with Benedict after the show.

Gosh, I practically feel like I was THERE myself...
