http://ultradevi.tumblr.com/post/123109477077/lustt-and-luxury-model-unidentified-justine I love what the tumblr "lustt-and-luxury" has done in bringing us this pair of exciting portraits of an unknown woman. I DO have a slight concern about the Internet -- in effect -- dissolving the sources of an artist's creativity: we SHOULD know both who shot these photos and something of the circumstances (including WHO this person is...).

I'm going to brag a bit here: you all know my "little game of tags" -- wherein I revisit the old tags I set up 5-6 years ago. I decided that "inspirations" fit my pitch (above) about how all too many elements in the identity of an artwork are "washed away" as a photo is reblogged again and again on the Net. (Tumblr is not the major sinner here: some shots arrive onto individual tumblrs from Goddess-knows-where, as may be the case of THIS shot. Passing them along is not wrong; losing their "provenance" in the process IS a genuine loss!)
But, about "bragging" -- I glanced back at "inspirations," tagged to earlier shots I've displayed here. AND I saw a wonderful post I happened to do about 15 months ago (
http://devifemme.livejournal.com/1472591.html -- if you'd like a shortcut). As I've explained often, I used to re-post shots I found on Flickr -- for which I requested and got the photographer's explicit permission to show to you. (That was Flickr's not-unreasonable rule -- until, a year ago, they changed the whole reposting arrangement, effectively denying me and, I presume, many other bloggers any access to photos owned by its members. But, hell, don't get me started...)
Soooo, that lovely shot is one of the last such re-posts I was able to do. Please, dear friends, go have a look at it. And, of course, feel free to click anytime on the tags I put on most posts, or just visit my ten years of LJ archives. (I missed mentioning the decade anniversary in mid-June -- my bad!)
