Shibari (and the related art of hojojutsu) is usually more about art, at least as they're applied. You could look into do some self-ties if you want. Hojojutsu is actually using the rope as a weapon in a variety of ways...but the average suburban practitioner is more into bondage and 'pretty ties' than that.
