The WPost today reported that the Russians have put into effect a "stop list" of European politicos banned from entering the country. As former British Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind (on the list) told BBC, what they're doing "is having a tantrum [which means] we're making an impact" with US/EU sanctions of Russia for invading Ukraine last year.
An unnamed Russian official told their news agency that there's a similar list of American officials -- but the US is handling sanctions "more constructively" than the EU, especially Germany. (At least one German politico, KG Wellman, got all the way to Moscow recently, only to be told "aus!" and put on a plane back home.
Having several close friends here who are Czech, I wanted to mention one of their guys on "the list," former Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg. He told the Czech News Agency that he had discovered "I was in a very decent club..."
