But that WASN'T the news: several weeks prior to that, they had been arrested -- and suspended by WNBA for seven games each -- for a "domestic dispute" (read nasty fight).
The article rightly put its focus on domestic violence within gay couples -- which, I hasten to add, is no worse than it is within straight couples. It reports that Brittney (who plays for Phoenix) and Glory (Tulsa) are lovie-dovie most of the time, though both are aggressive in their basketball. (Tulsa next plays Phoenix on July 2.)
It's not unfamiliar: Joanne and I also get aggressive, though over the decades together our fights have never turned physical. I note that Brittney calls GLory her "wife" -- while J and I have never used the term. (I guarantee that me calling her "wife" would trigger an awful fight, even though she has an inbred domesticity that I do not. Anyway, I know better than to bug her!)
