Woman artist in 17th century Italy

I just chanced upon this fascinating presentation on a guy's tumblr. As he writes, "So, I just added an...information dump on a post* when no one asked me, but there we go."

But his info is completely new to me: if you had asked me if there were any important women artists in late-Renaissance Italy, I'd probably have said "nope -- are you kidding?"

OMG I've seen Gentileschi's work (the Holofernes thing, gruesome as it is, is inescapable in Art Appreciation 101), but didn't have a clue the painter was a woman! And what she had to put up with: the rape and subsequent trial, yadda yadda! And then being denigrated/ignored over the centuries by mysogenists and other ignorant folk! (Including me, I admit!)
