Just saw this on a friend's blog:
Who cares if 85% of Americans don't know where Ukraine's borders are on a map? Neither does Vladimir Putin.

I also learned yesterday on NPR that it's incorrect to say "the" Ukraine ("krain" is a border area -- almost an invitation to annex such a "marginal" area. So that's what motivates Putin!
