I don't give up easily. Last May, ONTD breathlessly reported:
"Allegations Kristen Stewart was spotted 'flirting' with a woman on a night out following her split with boyfriend Robert Pattinson have been denied by insiders as 'completely untrue.'
"The actress reportedly split from her boyfriend of three years over the weekend and was said to be 'getting close' to a mystery woman while on a night out in Hollywood...
"They claimed a source told the magazine: 'Kristen seemed down. The woman kept rubbing Kristen’s back and putting her arms around her.'
"... Kristen was spotted out on Monday night looking happy as she partied with a group of friends in Los Feliz, Los Angeles just hours after Pattinson was spotted moving his stuff out of her mansion.
"The couple reportedly haven't spoken since they decided to end their romance on Saturday following a blow-out fight.' "
You ever actually ever hear HER speak? Not a role, but HER? Pretty atrocious to be honest. She was on Craig Ferguson one night, I think it was about the time her movie On The Road came out.
It looked like it would be pretty hard to have a conversation with her. You might want to avoid looking it up on YouTube to avoid bursting your 'crush' bubble.
I first saw a picture of her when she was smiling, and I thought that she was a tremendously attractive girl. A lot of photos of her seem to be posed, serious looking ones, and I don't think that they show her to her best advantage. She has one of those faces which looks rather sulky and unhappy in repose. When she smiles her face lights up, and it's a shame that more photographers don't seem to notice this.
She's only in her early 20s, and it must be tremendously stressful to be starring in such a phenomenally popular series as the TWILIGHT movies. God knows, at her age most people are just trying to find out who they are. How must it be to have to live that confusing time in the glare of the media? I do wonder if she'll turn out to be someone like Courtney Cox--someone who is feted for their looks from an early age, but who turns out to have hidden talents (In Cox's case, for comedy).
Gary -- thanks for your thoughts on Kristen, particularly citing the stress that serious current stars must all suffer these days. Papparazzi, and worse!
Interesting the comparison to Courtney. She was a big part of my fondness for the Friends series (which went on for a decade!). I love her Cougartown TV show (though Joanne doesn't like it -- too much sex!), and I seem to recall a movie or two featuring her. (Just checked Wiki; her movies are pretty forgettable...)
I think Kristen's just leading the journos a merry dance so that they get in a Twitter frenzy. I bet she doesn't do any of that. I saw her on Mean Tweets when someone tweeted that they preferred her when she was a boy. She played along quite amusingly. The whole "is she straight or gay?" thing has plenty of fame mileage in it for her and she's using it to her advantage.
Good to hear, Karen -- it seemed so bizarre that I wondered if she weren't just teasing us.
Or, my devious mind suggests, teasing a particular friend of hers -- a girlfriend, perhaps? (See, I do quite enjoy thinking of her as bi -- and I never liked Pattinson, I admit.)
