Romney -- just when we thought it was safe to...

The NYTimes columnist Maureen Dowd writes today about Mitt Romney -- and, though I devoutly hoped never to read about him again, I was impressed.

Seems there's a new film out about him. Mitt emerges from it, according to the uhr-liberal Dowd, far more human -- if still not sympathetic. She makes a telling point:

"Whiteley, a charming 44-year-old Mormon documentary [film maker]... was trying to reveal Mitt, while Romney’s handlers were trying to obscure Mitt."

Anyhow, he reports that Mitt himself was at the, for lack of a better word, "premiere" -- seemingly inspiring Down to do a bit of legwork. She talked to ex-staffers and others who remain astounded at his handlers' inability to do damned near anything right. His "47-percent" gaffe (the "moochers" dragging the rest off us under...) killed him, with nobody able to turn it around. They also saw no harm in Romney's La Jolla home having a 4-car garage accessed by elevator.

damned, holier than thou, abortion right-to-choice, sin by the seaside
