Saw on Tumblr a close-up HD photo of a not-yet-decorated Fraser pine -- and reblogged it. It was quite evocative, as is the blogger's moniker, "wintertime-feeling"... so I waxed sentimental.

Christmas trees are soul-pleasing, albeit a bizarre ritual (when you think abou.t it). We were travelling this time last year, so saw plenty of them -- but, for the first time in at least a decade, we didn't have one. But THIS year we did get a large one and hauled out all the old ornaments... soul-pleasing, as I said.
