Supernatural 03x15: Time Is On My Side
Ugh, what a fantastic episode! Seriously! The last few episodes were the only ones since I first watched the Pilot on DVD that made me nervous or jumpy when watching it. This episode was just such a high caliber. Excellent story, script, cinematography, acting, makeup, and set design. This episode was particularly darkly-filmed, with some nice shots worth remembering.
WINTORTURE. GOD, I WAS SO EXCITED. WHY WASN'T THERE MORE. WHY WASN'T THERE SHIRTLESSNESS. WHY WEREN'T SAM'S EYES TAKEN OUT. UGH, BLIND SAM. LSKDJFHKSJDFSDKLJFSKDFJFHKLJSD SCREAMS. I HAVE ISSUES. :|
SAM'S HAIR. OH, GOD. OH GOD. It was like, the first thing I noticed. D:
Sam's HANDS. On that girl's FACE. And she got PAID for this, WHAT.
Love the shot with doctor alchemist (FMA, anyone?) lowering his lantern, so shadows fill under his brow. And the shot of Sam walking forward toward the curtain when Dean tells him he's going to take out the doc. Sam walks out of the shadows into the light through the hole in the curtain, and it's just fab.
OKAY, STEVEN. FUCKING. WILLIAMS. HOLY SHIT. I LIKE. BUST A FUCKING NUT WHEN HE CAME ONSCREEN. I JUST. I DON'T EVEN KNOW. LKDFJ;LGKJDF HE IS SO AMAZING, AND I MEAN. AS A PHILE, THIS IS LIKE. LIKE. THE BEST THING EVER. UGHHHHHSDSLDKJFHJSFKJD.
Oh, Bela. I have to say, I never really got why fandom hated her so much, but I didn't really adore her, either. But her last scene where she was pleading with Dean? It really made me feel for her. And her backstory was not a letdown, and it wasn't some sob story, either, which pleased me. Poor thing. But what a sweet way to go.
"Whatever the magic pill is, I'll take it, too!" Oh, God, Sam. Oh, boys. *clench*
I adore so much that Sam's so damn desperate right now. Caught between trying to make Dean happy, and trying to save him. By any means necessary. And just when he was so close to gaining the secret of immortality, you could see it. Could see the internal battle and the terror and man, I thought Sam was gonna slug him and put Dean through the ritual regardless. It's totally when I get to appreciate shots like the one I described before, with Sam having to force himself out of the shadows. I get shivers from shit like that, man.
As for next week? I just. I don't even know. Oh, God. So excited and nervous and excited and... EEEE, BOYS. EEE, FINALE! I have high hopes for this one, especially since I am so wonderfully unspoiled.
