I promised details of my birthday party back when it happened on the 25th July, but I never got round to it due to one thing and another and when the time came to actually write the report of my birthday the office computer went into meltdown and died (RIP).
Now we have an uber-fast replacement with a new, slightly funked keyboard and I think i can get around to giving my report on the day I actually turned 29+1.
I had my hair done on the day in question, Saturday the 25th, took the girl who's a friend of the family and brought be a present of LUSH bath-products, just over 2 hours, 20 pins and a ton of hairspray to get my hair half decent. She only charged us £25 too. Bargain.

looks kinda nice i think.
anyways, Miz Ellie landed about 2pm-ish and after chillin on the sofa just kicking back and watching re-runs of Star Trek Next-Gen on Virgin1 we wandered round the shop for some Golden Virginia and returned to find my brother Jonah hard at work at the oven cooking certain amounts of food and chewing the fat with my mom.
I would like to say at this point the weather was blistering hot and close to the point of being Indian.
After lounging for another hour I finally get around to dragging my birthday butt to get changed and ready to receive visitors at about half 5pm onwards.
In short from about 5.15pm onwards guests began to arrive and started to congregate virtually everywhere until I had about 15 in total. Which was a lot cos our house isn't that big. The Coley brothers set up their soundsystem which basically consisted of an amplifier with an iPod cable attachment.
How did we live before iPods?
Cue a variety of music rockin' the house for the remainder of the evening.

The food, all homemade courtesy of mom and Jonah went down a treat. The only bad point was that Clare, my good friend from work was off sick with flu. It wasn't swine flu but we didn't know that at the time so she played it safe. She gave me a butterfly vibrator as a present. It rocks.
In a good way.
Finally the food was done and we could concentrate on the more important stuff. I.e: the pudding.

The cheesecake was made by me, as was the trifle. The cake was made by the local bakery to my own personal colour co-ordinates. I love pink and black. It's a good colour combo. Plus I had a crush on Bret Hart (wrestler) when I was little so it's understandable.
Finally the time came to cut the cake and so it was moved out to the table so i could light candles and cut it without too much difficulty. By this point I was more than a little drunk. And armed with a cake knife and a cocktail I was called on to light, blow and cut my cake.

Miz ellie had a 'record video' feature on her camera and managed to get the whole scene of me cutting the cake while engaged in a drunken Mafia-based monologue (don't ask). It's very funny and I have in on cd. If i can figure out how to upload it onto this site then you could all be allowed to witness me being an idiot.
But a drunken happy idiot.
After everyone had cake and settled down to drink, chat, eat and enjoy the evening I lit up the candles in jars and crashed to chat with people. I had passed the ability to 'work the room' at this point due to alcohol consumption but I was more than happy to talk.
As the hour got late though, those with kids and other commitments began to leave until only a few of my inner circle were left by the end. So we left the candles burning in their jam jars and went to bed.
the end
i did like the party. it went off to a tee. and with the exception of Clare not being able to attend I'm glad my Bristol friends got to see what my house is like for the first time.
