guns and butter

so I'm reading the news sites and feeds seeing how sales for consumer items are dropping through the floor resulting in layoffs in various sectors. I click on a couple of links and read accounts of ammunition being scarece to get ahold of these days and the cost for guns going through the roof. I've never even fired a gun but these days I have a strong desire to learn to do so. Just.in.case.

my advice is to get in while the gettin's good and buy whatever it is you're going to buy. the prices may not come down for a good long time.

eventually, if the economy gets worse there might be a glut of people selling their guns because they need the cash to support themselves, but there's no telling how long that will take and to what degree it might happen.

Makes me wish I'd brought Gram's shotgun home with me from California, and I would have but I wasn't sure of the legalities involved in carrying an unlicensed firearm across state lines.

yeah transit across state lines can be a pain. however, texas doesn't require licensing of weapons. the only license we have is the concealed handgun license, which licenses a person not a particular pistol.
