San Jose/Workplace Rumors

I get to fly on an airplane tomorrow!!!!!! So excited! hehehe I know... its the simple things in life that excite me sometimes. I'm going up to Mountain View for some training in our MV office. I'll just be up there for the day so I'm flying up in the morning and flying back in the evening.

So if you hear about SouthWest flight #785 from LAX to San Jose or #1065 from SJ to LAX being hijacked or crashing or something then gimme a call.... hahaha

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Ok... so... I HATE workplace rumors. I hate doubting that what the high muckety mucks are telling us. They tell us that we dont need to worry. They're not shutting down the El Segundo Office. They tell us that there are no planned layoffs in the future.

Then the doubters step in.

Them: "If they're not shutting us down why havent they hired anyone?"
Me: "But they have open positions that they are interviewing for"
Them: "Yeah, but they havent actually hired anyone down here in months. They've almost doubled in size up there (San Jose)"
Me: "Why would they go through all the deception to pretend that they're keeping the offices down here open?"
Them: "It keeps moral up"
Me: "I'm not buying it"

But in reality I am in some ways. I think that I have a character flaw. I trust too easily. Unless someone gives me a reason to not trust them I'm going to trust them. Why should I not? I trust that the high muckety mucks are not lying when they tell us that things are going well. But I cant help that nagging in the back of my brain when people start gossiping about what's going to happen or not going to happen.... *sigh*

So here I am. At work. Getting ready to go up North for the day tomorrow.... I wonder if it would be unwise to just walk up to the CEO of the company and say "Hey! Whats up? Are you closing us down here?". But then, if they were, why would they tell me.... :P

Whatever.... It doesnt really matter either way. If they do then I'll be looking for a job. If they dont then I will forget these stupid rumors in a day or two.

Everything always works out in the end. Always has. Always will.
